Women's Leadership Academy at Loyola University New Orleans pairs each participant with a dynamic mentor during their time in the WLA program. The goal is to foster relationships rooted in personal and professional growth.

Role of a Mentor
➔ Develop a trusting, confidential, and mutually beneficial relationship.
➔ Listen and provide encouragement, feedback and new insights.
➔ Foster mentee with personal and professional growth.
➔ Help build career vision.
➔ Suggest ways to expand professional networks and increase visibility.
➔ Foster increased self-awareness.
Mentor Commitment
➔ Attend a 1 hour mentor training session.
➔ Dedicate 1 hour of time per month for 6 months.
➔ Meet monthly (June - November) with your assigned mentee in person, virtually, or by phone.
➔ Keep all shared information confidential.
➔ Be a resource for your mentee.
➔ Commit to developing a connection with your mentee.
➔ Make WLA mentee a priority for 6 months.
Mentorship Program Information
The Women's Leadership Academy (WLA) Mentorship Program at Loyola University New Orleans is designed to foster relationships rooted in personal and professional growth by pairing each participant with a mentor for 6 months of the program.

- Invitation to all of WLA networking events for assigned cohort
- $500 scholarship and priority acceptance to upcoming cohort if you have not previously participated in WLA
- Invite to become a WLA Alumnae Member
Required Time Commitment
- 1 hour per month, June - November, for monthly meetings (in-person, virtual, or phone)
- One-time, 1 hour mentor training
- Attendance at the mentor meet and greet
- Attendance at WLA graduation (if possible)
WLA monthly session dates are for WLA participants. Mentor/Mentee meetings are scheduled outside of the WLA monthly sessions at a mutually convenient time, date, and location.

- All mentors are invited to attend the WLA graduation ceremony

WLA Cohort 7 Mentor Application Information
Applications coming soon to be a WLA Cohort 7 mentor.
The application takes approximately 5-10 minutes, is completed 100% online, and requires several pieces of information including contact information and a brief paragraph on why you want to serve as a mentor.
Deadline to apply: April 16, 2025
Status notifications will be sent via email no later than May 16, 2025.
Selection Process
The WLA Selection Committee will seek to identify 60 individuals who would be a great match to a WLA participant.
Approximately 3-4 weeks following the close of the application period, letters of notification regarding selection to the mentor program will be sent out via email to all applicants.
If selected, additional information may be requested such as a brief bio and headshot.
